Felt that there isn't much difference between Taipei & other cities. Had to agree that Taiwan is also a heaven for food lovers. Only issue i have is their traffic. Can't stand the way their motorists moving arnd. Totally never care abt other road users. They turn or go the way they wanted. Although there are traffic lights, it isn't ez to know what signals now whether we can go ahead or to stop.
Envy their entertainment varities shows. So much choices. Feel like migrating there. Even their New Year celebrations were so interesting. Thot tat Taipei 101 was on fire when the fireworks was on. Managed to catch some of the fireworks frm the TV.
Regretted not taking pics of the biz class food. God knows when will i be able to fly on biz class again!
I expressed my heartfelt gratitude to Jonny, Anna & Justina for the help they had rendered.
Almost forget to mention, 7-11 dun provide free plastic carrier bag. You have to pay TWD1 for it if you want to have carrier bag.

Finally managed to secure a room at Tamsui(淡水) wif Justina's help. However, the price was cut throat rate. One nite costs us TWD6500 equiv SGD300 plus. Some more, rate oredi given discount. Had no choice but to accept it. 谁叫我摆乌龙在先, thinking Hsinchu is in TPE.
Rushed down to Tamsui by MRT. Upon ckin at Joy hotel, realise why the rate was so EX liao. Spacious room that comes with JACUZZI, able to view fireworks directly in 20mins time.
According to the local folks, tis their 1st time organising Countdown event. A bit disappointed that no big stars attending. Nevertheless, still looking forward to the fireworks from my room.

Set out happily to TPE. To my horror, i realised i booked the wrong hotel upon ckin. Tat Howard Hsinchu isn't in TPE at all. Dammit, TMD, WTF!!! No rooms available for tomolo nite due to 跨年program over at 101.
Called Jonny & Anna for help. Went to search for hotels frantically after checking in but without success.
In the end, decided to 即来之,则安之, take 1 step at a time.

Woke up arnd 5plus in the morning to catch the 7am train. Reached 台东 arnd 1045am, juz in time to connect the train. So worried tat i mis-connect. Finally reached Hualien arnd 1430hrs. Took cab to hotel unless i wanted to walk for 40mins or so to get to the hotel.
Regretted not reading up more on Hualien. Seems tat there's nothing much to do here. Unable to visit 太鲁阁 due to timing constraint.

Gotten to know frm the news tat KHH was one of the worst hit area wif the biggest quake, measured at magnitude 6.7 and at magnitude 7.1 by the U.S. Geological Survey, off the island's southern coast at 8:26 p.m. (1226 GMT) yesterday on the 2nd anniversary of a massive earthquake and tsunami.
There were several aftershocks through the nite & a serious one this morning while i was having breakfast. Cud actually feel the building was shaking even though i was on the 5th floor only.
Visited 爱河(Love River) today. It's original name is called Kaohsiung River. A reporter mistaken the river's name after a couple were found dead, committed suicide.

Checked out of Regent. Trvled to 高雄(Kaohsiung) by 铁路(railway train) which took abt 4-5hrs. Ckin at Howard htl(福华) after walking for abt 20mins or so. It looks so near on the map. SIGH!
Went out to search for nite market(once again) after refreshing. Basically all the nite markets are abt the same(大同小异).
At arnd 8plus, suddenly felt the room/building was shaking/moving quite seriously. It lasted for few minutes before happening again within the next 15-30mins. 在惊慌之下,4gotten 2 take some evidence of the pic shaking in the room and the water in the swimming pool being splashed out. Decided to stay out of the hotel after the 3rd quake.
To tink that this happens on the anniversary of Tsunami......
To some, it may not be a big deal. Tis quake actually affected me to a certain extent as i always has height phobia(惧高症). My 1st experience wif earthquake. At tat moment, thots of "Am i going to die tis way?", "Will the htl collapse?" kept filling my mind.

Took bus frm apt to hotel after arrival. The environment looks like it was already after 2100hrs when it was only btwn 1800~1900hrs. Weather shiok shiok, liked that time when i went TYO. Din realise the hotel which i booked was actually Regent hotel(丽晶). Only knew it as Grand Formosa Taipei. DFS shops are located right at the basement of the hotel.
Room toilet is installed based on Japanese habit as i believe majority of the guests are japanese. It's also surrounded by branded goods shops such as LV (can't remember the rest)
Went to search for food after settling down. Walked to one of their many nite markets. Attacked heartily at a banned item in SG & that's 猪血(pig's blood). Yummy, Yummy!!! Started to drizzle as the food were being galloped.
