Passing Of 許瑋倫

Beatrice Xu Wei Lun (13Nov78 - 28Jan07)

Thought news of her passing is a nasty prank. Though I'm no fan of hers, felt saddened by this news. Unable to believe her life ended in this way. Her heart failed at 1709hrs on 28th, doctors tried but failed for 2hrs to revive her. She was in the middle of filming for a new serial 太陽的女兒, and was rushing to the shooting location when the accident happened. Really heaven is jealous of the talented.

Profile of Beatrice

Quote:

Embrassing Day

Think my HDD is going to RIP liao. Transferring all impt files out to so many locations.

Our section had buffet lunch at Sakaura Downtown East. Attacked salmon sashimi, laksa, bur bur hitam, sushi & many other stuff. Was so bloated when we left the place.

Was raining heavily when going home. So embarrassed when both shoe straps gave way. Luckily, i was near my bus when it happened. Threw the shoes away after alighting. Phoned Kerin to meet me at the taxi stand and bring me a pair of slippers.

Mum called to meet for dinner. Ordered Yu Sheng @ Parkway Sakae Sushi. Reunion dinner to be held on 11Feb at granny's place. I'm in charge of buying the Yu Sheng down.

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

My Birthdate

You are a virtual roller coaster of emotions, and most people enjoy the ride.

Your mood tends to set the tone of the room, and when you're happy, this is a good thing.

When you get in a dark mood, watch out - it's very hard to get you out of it. It's sometimes hard for you to cheer up, and your gloom can be contagious.

Your strength: Your warm heart

Your weakness: Trouble controlling your emotions

Your power color: Black

Your power symbol: Musical note

Your power month: February

My 1st Time...............

It was my first time ever
And I'll never forget
I'd do it again
Without a single regret.
The sky was dark
The moon was high
We were all alone
Just she and I.

Her hair was soft
Her eyes were blue
I knew just what
She wanted to do.
Her skin so soft
Her legs so fine
I ran my fingers
Down her spine.

I didn't know how
But I tried my best
I started by placing
My hands on her breast.
I remember my fear
My fast beating heart
But slowly she spread
Her legs apart.

And when I did it

I felt no shame

All at once
The white stuff came.
At last it's finished
It's all over now
My first time ever..

Life Of A Singaporean

Singaporean life???

Hai Ya (Sigh!) ....it's never easy to be S'poreans.... Just take a look at the below passage, humorous but that's reality!

I am Ong Ah Bee living in Kampong Chai Chee.
Life used to be simple and HAPPY
I worked hard in my STUDIES
I learned A-B-C, and everything from 1, 2, and 3.
Primary school was quite easy I passed PSLE.

Then I went to SECONDARY.
The subjects include HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY Physics, Biology and CHEMISTRY.
After O levels I went to JC. I was quite LUCKY.

This is a small humid tropical COUNTRY Surrounded by unknown potential ENEMIES.
Boys turned 18 must go to ARMY. After that we must continue our Studies.

The girls can just sit back, relax, and watch TV.

No one lives on free meals or depends on CHARITY. I had no money to go to University or Poly. So I went to work at a FACTORY. Trying to earn a little lousy SALARY. After CPF and INCOME TAX, I have just enough money to buy ROTI and ride in MRT.

Colleagues at work used to be FRIENDLY. Always treat me to tea and COFFEE. Somehow they turned FISHY Passing bad remarks about me Telling everybody I am LAZY.

My bosses show me no SYMPATHY Mumbling over my shoulder daily : "HURRY, HURRY and HURRY !"

Accusing me of always trying to get MC. But my sickness was due to over stretch OT. Going home after midnight by TAXI and They pay me only bus fee.

I Park-Tor and became STEADY Finally had to MARRY. I lost money holding Wedding Dinner PARTY Cheeky friends donating only cheap PANTY.

After marriage, nothing was EASY. In one year, I became DADDY. I can't support my family and our BABY.

Being tied down for life to repay HDB and rising monthly utilities to PUB. My bank account has NO MONEY.

POSB balance is almost EMPTY. DBS wants to charge me EXTRA FEE. Insisting that "Nothing is FREE!"

So I moonlight as KARANG GUNI

Many times I want to jump into the sea to MATI. But that is not EASY.

My wife cries: "Who is going to support me and our BABY?"

so I can't MATI.

I went to seek assistance from the MP His reply was simple and easy:
"Vote for me, vote for me, vote for me".

He never tell me any convincing Policy.

ATM PIN NUMBER REVERSAL (GOOD TO KNOW)

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you.

This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don't know it exists.

Please pass this along to everyone possible.

Story Of 8 Monkeys

This is reportedly based on an actual experiment conducted in the UK.

Put eight monkeys in a room. In the middle of the room is a ladder, leading to a bunch of bananas hanging from a hook on the ceiling.

Each time a monkey tries to climb the ladder, all the monkeys are sprayed with ice water, which makes them miserable. Soon enough, whenever a monkey attempts to climb the ladder, all of the other monkeys, not wanting to be sprayed, set upon him and beat him up.

Soon, none of the eight monkeys ever attempts to climb the ladder.

One of the original monkeys is then removed, and a new monkey is put in the room. Seeing the bananas and the ladder, he wonders why none of the other monkeys are doing the obvious. But undaunted, he immediately begins to climb the ladder.

All the other monkeys fall upon him and beat him silly. He has no idea why. However, he no longer attempts to climb the ladder.

A second original monkey is removed and replaced. The newcomer again attempts to climb the ladder, but all the other monkeys hammer the crap out of him.

This includes the previous new monkey, who, grateful that he's not on the receiving end this time, participates in the beating because all the other monkeys are doing it. However, he has no idea why he's attacking the new monkey.

One by one, all the original monkeys are replaced. Eight new monkeys are now in the room. None of them have ever been sprayed by ice water. None of them attempt to climb the ladder. All of them will enthusiastically beat up any new monkey who tries, without having any idea why.

*..................and that is how most companies' policies get established.*

Sometimes, it feels like this at the workplace. Employees just do certain procedures because others are doing the same....without knowing why they do them and whether what they have been doing all along can be improved or changed. They say its the policy. At times, it feels it's just the standard practices that have been passed down from employee to employee.

Nothing else.

台灣之旅感想

Felt that there isn't much difference between Taipei & other cities. Had to agree that Taiwan is also a heaven for food lovers. Only issue i have is their traffic. Can't stand the way their motorists moving arnd. Totally never care abt other road users. They turn or go the way they wanted. Although there are traffic lights, it isn't ez to know what signals now whether we can go ahead or to stop.

Envy their entertainment varities shows. So much choices. Feel like migrating there. Even their New Year celebrations were so interesting. Thot tat Taipei 101 was on fire when the fireworks was on. Managed to catch some of the fireworks frm the TV.

Regretted not taking pics of the biz class food. God knows when will i be able to fly on biz class again!

I expressed my heartfelt gratitude to Jonny, Anna & Justina for the help they had rendered.

Almost forget to mention, 7-11 dun provide free plastic carrier bag. You have to pay TWD1 for it if you want to have carrier bag.

There were several aftershocks through the nite & a serious one this morning while i was having breakfast. Cud actually feel the building was shaking even though i was on the 5th floor only.

台湾Earthquake!

Checked out of Regent. Trvled to 高雄(Kaohsiung) by 铁路(railway train) which took abt 4-5hrs. Ckin at Howard htl(福华) after walking for abt 20mins or so. It looks so near on the map. SIGH!

Went out to search for nite market(once again) after refreshing. Basically all the nite markets are abt the same(大同小异).

At arnd 8plus, suddenly felt the room/building was shaking/moving quite seriously. It lasted for few minutes before happening again within the next 15-30mins. 在惊慌之下,4gotten 2 take some evidence of the pic shaking in the room and the water in the swimming pool being splashed out. Decided to stay out of the hotel after the 3rd quake.

To tink that this happens on the anniversary of Tsunami......

To some, it may not be a big deal. Tis quake actually affected me to a certain extent as i always has height phobia(惧高症). My 1st experience wif earthquake. At tat moment, thots of "Am i going to die tis way?", "Will the htl collapse?" kept filling my mind.

Another Customer Svc Complaint

This was posted in Hardwarezone.com Forums under Motorola User Group.

************************************************************************

Hi,

I am really disappointed with Motorola Service Center. A few months back, we bought a Motorola E1070 mobile phone that is very good in features from SingTel Hello Shop. 5 days later, the phone's internal camera is spoilt. I brought back to Hello Shop and they said no such thing as 1 to 1 exchange within 7 days of purchase. How ridiculous. That is so bad, because I got a faulty device. 5 days and it is spoil. Then, I brought to Motorola Service Center, left it there for 2 days to get it repaired, and brought back all looks ok. Then, the screen started having problems, they need to change the motherboard etc. To date I have sent the phone for repair 4x and it is really damn annoying.

Then, the battery started to get low batt, even after a recharge. I brought back to Motorola yesterday and they told me they suspect is corrosion. How come? The phone got corroded in such a short period of time! And the best thing Motorola Service Center did is:

1. They have no copies of my warranty card, despite the fact they took away the copies earlier.

2. They can't check all my past complains on the phone, despite giving my IC number!

3. They told me to sign a disclaimer, that they will clean up the phone if corroded, but they cannot guarantee that the phone is usable when they return the phone to me! Imagine that! They will take my phone that is currently working (despite the low battery issue), and then they will repair it, and then will return a non-working phone to me, and I must sign the disclaimer. In fact, it will also void the warranty. The supervisor came and said the same thing!

It really infuriates me for such a bad service from Motorola. In fact, their phone has a corrosion indicater, something I never seen in my Ericsson or Nokia phones! Shows that the materials used by Motorola are bad that they even have to add a corrosion indicater, their phones can get corroded easily.

I will never ever buy a Motorola phone again! What a regret! If you look at the Motorola Service Center at Plaza Singapura, you will see that the queue is long. One of the visits there, I encountered a man who was so angry with the counter saying how many times he has to send his phone there for repairs!

Motorola really needs to improve their quality in phones.

King Arthur & The Witch

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighbouring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur's youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?...What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer.

But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.

He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered....is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur's life would be spared.

And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened?

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day....or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down below. OKAY?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now....what is the moral to this story?

launching a complaint, don't think they are actually looking into
your complaints...

It's just the usual response they send...Read the first mail from below upwards
===============================================================================

Hi Friends

Please read the emails exchanged between myself and Carrefour.

It is very disappointing to know that they give their usual msg to their customers' feedbacks. What is worse they even forwarded their internal emails for me to read.

This is an excellent example of what not to do.

Please forward this email to your friends for their reading.

Subject: Poor customer service at Carrefour

Dear Sir/Mdm

I was at Carrefour-Suntec City - on the night of 15/10/2006 to buy the following items, a laptop, a fax machine, a DVD recorder and a roadbike.

I left with only the laptop and the DVD recorder. I did not buy the roadbike because the staff serving me could not tell me the difference between a $900 bike and a $300 bike except that they were both had aluminium frame. I did not buy the fax machine because no one bother to serve me despite standing at the fax machine section for 15 mins. I approached a staff at the adjacent section selling telephone but all he told me was the staff selling fax machine is not around and did not offer any assistance.

On the 21/10/06 I returned to Carrefour - Suntec City - to get a refund for the laptop as I had discovered that the laptop only supported Windows XP and could not be used to run my DOS programme.

The salesman who sold me the laptop 6 days earlier was very unhappy and refuses a refund of the laptop citing various lame excuses. He finally agree to a refund after I went through Carrefour's refund policy with him. At this point he make a photocopy of my identity card claiming the company's need to track my refund history. I was outrage and disappointed at being treated like a criminal and asked for the duty manager. The duty manager arrived and agreed that it was not Carrefour's policy to make photocopy of customer's IC but he was no better than the salesman for he wanted to take down my particular's instead.

I am very disappointed with the Carrefour's staff, from the lack of product knowledge to the lack of service and finally to their staff's attitude of negating on the company's promise of a refund if goods were returned intact.

They should not bother to track my refund history as I will not be shopping there anymore.

What A Day

Not so lucky today when I
a. Missed my bus - held up by overseas call from Rome.
b. Caught in the rain - Wasn't raining so heavily when i left office. Was drenched by the time I reached home. Took a hot shower almost immediately.

Just remembered some embarrassing moment which happened yesterday. Realised I'm short of cash after I had placed my order. 当时真恨不得有个洞给我转进去。No choice but to amend my order. Hope the service crew wasn't aware of it.

Silent Killers

Received the following frm fren, better be safe den sorry.

For those who take
Ricola & Fisherman , please note that they both contain Aspartame - the silent killer.

This website shows the adverse effects of ASPARTAME:
http://www.nexusmagazine.com/articles/aspartame.html

Fisherman Sweets
FOR THOSE WHO LIKE TO EAT FISHERMAN SWEETS BE CAREFUL: Sugar free products contain ASPARTAME .. So don't consume Sugar free product esp. 'fisherman sweets' ASPARTAME - THE SILENT KILLER (by Ron Harder)

To those who prefer to consume artificial flavouring:
There is an epidemic across North America today of Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus. Most people do not understand why this epidemic is happening, and they do not know why these diseases are so rampant. I would like to share with you the main reason we are having this very serious problem. Many people today use artificial sweeteners in their tea or coffee.
They do this because the ads they see on TV tell them that sugar is bad for their health. This is absolutely true. Sugar is toxic to us , but what most people use as a replacement for sugar is much more deadly. I am talking about ASPARTAME. It is the cause of the epidemic that was mentioned above. ASPARTAME is an extremely toxic chemical that is produced by a chemical company called Monsanto.

ASPARTAME is being marketed around the world as a sugar substitute and is found in all diet soft drinks, such as
Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi. It is also found in artificial sweeteners such as NutraSweet, Equal, and Spoonful; and it is used in many other products as a sugar replacement.

ASPARTAME is marketed as a diet product, but it is not a diet product at all. In fact, it will cause you to GAIN weight because it makes you crave carbohydrates. Causing you to gain weight is only a very small part of what ASPARTAME does. It is a toxic chemical that changes the brain's chemistry. It can and does cause severe seizures.

This chemical changes the dopamine level in the brain, and it is particularly deadly for anyone suffering from arkinson's disease.

ASPARTAME is extremely poisonous, and here is why one of the toxic ingredients of it is wood alcohol. When the temperature of ASPARTAME exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in it is converted to Formaldehyde, and then to formic acid, which in turn causes folic acidosis.

FORMALDEHYDE is grouped in the same class of poisons as Cyanide and Arsenic which are very deadly toxins. The only difference is, Formaldehyde kills quietly, and it takes a little longer. And, in the process of killing people, it causes all kinds of neurological problems. There are 92 documented symptoms of Aspartame Poisoning leading to coma and death.
The majority of these symptoms are neurological, because the ASPARTAME attacks and destroys the nervous system. One of these symptoms is Lupus, which has become almost as rampant as Multiple Sclerosis, especially with Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi drinkers.

Review on GST

Have you thought of how the increase in GST and reduction of income tax will affect you? Here are detailed examples of people in different income brackets, and we assumed that everyone spends 25% of their income on GST-related products.

The results are quite interesting...hmmm........

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Example 1- Lower Income Bracket

In 2006, if after rebates etc and your net taxable income is $25,000, the income tax you need to pay is $187.50 (3.75%). If you spend 25% of your income, which is $6,250, on needed goods and services, the GST paid for 5% will be $312.50.

In 2007, if after rebates etc and your net taxable income is $25,000, the income tax you need to pay is $175 (3.5%). If you spend 25% of your income, which is $6,250, on needed goods and services, the GST paid for 7% will be $437.50.

Effectively, your income tax is reduced by $12.50 but you pay $125 more in GST.

Result: Net Increase of $112.50 in overall tax payable!!!

Example 2 - Middle Income Bracket

In 2006, if after rebates etc and your net taxable income is $60,000, the income tax you need to pay is $2,700 (8.75%). If you spend 25% of your income, which is $15,000, on needed goods and services, the GST paid for 5% will be $750.

In 2007, if after rebates etc and your net taxable income is $60,000, the income tax you need to pay is $2,600 (8.50%). If you spend 25% of your income, which is $15,000, on needed goods and services, the GST paid for 7% will be $1050.

Effectively, your income tax is reduced by $100 but you pay $300 more in GST.

Result: Net Increase of $200 in overall tax payable!!!

Example 3 - Higher Income Bracket

In 2006, if after rebates etc and your net taxable income is $400,000, the income tax you need to pay is $61,650 (21%). If you spend 25% of your income, which is $100,000, on needed goods and services, the GST paid for 5% will be $5000.

In 2007, if after rebates etc and your net taxable income is $400,000, the income tax you need to pay is $58,700 (20%). If you spend 25% of your income, which is $100,000, on needed goods and services, the GST paid for 7% will be $7000.

Effectively, your income tax is reduced by $2950 but you pay $2000 more in GST.

Result: Net DECREASE of $950 in overall tax payable!!!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wah lau, still don't faster go out and earn more money?? The more you earn, the more you save in taxes!!!

Life

IF YOU DON'T READ THIS TO THE VERY END, YOU HAVE LOST A DAY IN YOUR LIFE.

George Carlin's View on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half.

You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . . You become 21.

Even the words sound like a ceremony . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk!
He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 AND your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90's, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them!"

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down........... this is so so true!!!

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

But do share this with someone.

We all need to live life to its fullest each day!! Afterall, age is nothing but a number.

What Happens In Heaven

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received."

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world. Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.

The angel then said to me, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them."

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed "How is it that? There's no work going on here?" I asked.
"So sad," the angel sighed. "After people received the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments.

"How does one acknowledge God's blessings?" I asked.

"Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, God."

"What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked.

"If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.

Also .....

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness .... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day.

If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, 3 billion people in the world.

If your parents are still alive and still married .. you are very rare.

If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair."

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over 2 billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

Attn: Acknowledgment Dept:

Thank You God! Thank you God, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with".

5 Don'ts When U R Slping

DON'T SLEEP WITH WATCH
Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects on your health.

DON'T SLEEP WITH PHONE
Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you need to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.

DON'T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP
People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run. Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go into deep sleep.

DON'T SLEEP WITH BRA
Scientists in America have discovered those that wear bras for more than 12 hours have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. So go to bed without it.

DON'T SLEEP WITH OTHERS' WIFE
You may never wake up again....

Must CRY When SAD

Interesting piece of information...

"There was a study done where a control group of 100 people were divided into two.

50 people watched a very funny, tears-of laughter type movie.
50 people watched a very sad, tears of compassion type movie.

At the end of the sessions researchers collected the "happy tears" and the "sad tears" with eye droppers.

They found that "happy tears" are made up of brine...salt water and not a great deal else.

However the "sad tears" were found to contain the very same chemicals and enzymes that are found in tumors, ulcers and other such lumps and bumps and sicknesses through out the body.

This test concluded that the body, when crying in sadness etc is literally flushing out all of the toxic-chemicals that accumulate and are a part of the sadness/heartache experience.

Therefore if one holds back those tears, those toxic-waters will find somewhere else to deposit themselves... .and prolonged lack-of-crying-release will guarantee that the body will accumulate a huge amount of internal pollution and toxicity that should have been released through the tears........is it any wonder that the eyes
sting so much when we hold back our tears?

2 Way Mirror

Beware of Mirrors in Hotels or Public Washroom! .....Because you never know!

How to determine if a mirror are 2 way or not (Not a Joke!) Not to scare you, but to make you aware. A policewoman who travels all over the US and gives seminars and techniques for businesswomen.... Passed this on.

HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR :

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc. How many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror ( i.e., they can see you, but you can't see them).

There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it.

So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty what type of mirror we are looking at? Just conduct this simple test:

Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror.

However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, FOR IT IS A 2-WAY MIRROR!

So remember , every time you see a mirror, do the "fingernail test." It doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do, and it might save you from getting "visually raped" !

This is a really good thing to do. The reason there is a gap on a real mirror, is because the silver is on the back of the mirror UNDER the glass. As a two-way mirror, the silver is on the surface. Keep it in mind!

Ladies: Share this with your girl friends.

Men: Share this with your wives, daughters and/or girlfriend or friends.

PASS THIS ON FOR SAFETY

Special Grocery List

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can."

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.

The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?"

Louise replied, "Yes sir." "O.K" he said, "Put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

"Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;

"It was worth every penny of it . Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs."

THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families' life

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do. Amen & Amen

Don't break this, please!

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards.
May you always walk with Angels .
God Bless !
May God Bless You!
"Happiness keeps you sweet,
Trials keep you strong,
Sorrows keep you human,
Failures keep you humble,
Success keeps you glowing,
But only God keeps you going!"

Trip Review

Going 2 Tokyo has all along been one of my childhood dreams. So glad it's a dream come true even if it's budget trvl. Hv no regrets over it.

Their toilets are ICHIBAN DESU! Wonders when SG will hv such toilets??? Culture dere is so different. Ppl dere are polite & helpful all teh time. Perhaps, teh only inconvenience is language. Discovers ppl dere are not so fluent wif english even those younger generation. Other surprise is quite a nbr of them can speak fluent mandarin. Guess it's much more ez 2 learn chinese den english 4 them as they oso hv kanji chars.

HAZE

YOUR GUIDE FOR STAYING HEALTHY

WHAT IS ‘HAZE’?

Haze is a phenomenon or occurrence caused by the accumulation of fine particles in the air which are barely visible to naked eye. These particles may occur naturally or may be an outcome of human activities like open burning or smoky discharges from factories and exhaust of motor vehicles. When these particles accumulate in large quantities and suspend in the air, they can lock out sunlight and visibility will be greatly reduced.

AIR POLLUTANT INDEX (API)

The API is obtained from the measurement of fine particles (below 10 microns) and several gases which are hazardous to health such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and ozone. The API is used as a guide for measuring air quality and its effect on health as follows:-

API VALUE STATUS

0 - 50 - Good
51 - 100 - Moderate
101 - 200 - Unhealthy
201 - 300 - Very unhealthy
301 - 500 - Dangerous

HAZE THREATENS YOUR HEALTH

Continuous hazy conditions will cause ill effects to all people especially those in the high risk groups such as:-

1. Children
2. The elderly
3. Those with illnesses like
- asthma
- bronchitis
- pneumonia
- chronic lung diseases
- heart diseases
- allergies
4. Cigarette smokers
5. Those who work outdoors most of the time

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS AS A RESULT OF EXPOSURE TO THE HAZE?

The effects of continuous exposure to the haze include:-

• Itchy sensation in the throat, and coughing, increased phlegm
• Difficulty in breathing (wheeze) or nose block
• Pain, irritation, red and watery eyes
• Itchy skin rashes

If above symptoms persist, get advice and treatment at the nearest clinic.

PREVENTION OF HAZE-RELATED ILLNESSES

• Close all windows and doors to your bedroom. Boil a kettle (electric) of water in the room and allow the steam to fill the room. Allow 10 – 15 minutes for the fine water vapor (steam) to collect the pollutants / particles in the air and settle down. After this the room should contain healthier air.

• Surgical masks are of no use and if not regularly changed they can act as a base for bacteria to grow and result in other infections. Only very close fitting masks that do not allow air to enter through the sides of the mask are effective.

• Limit all outdoor activity as far as possible e.g avoid outdoor sport or physical activities.

• Always wash / bathe as soon as you return from outdoors. This will minimize eye / skin irritation. For minor eye irritation try using over the counter eye drops e.g Eye Mo.

• Use your car air-conditioner when traveling in the car.

• Drink a lot of water.

• Smokers are advised to quit smoking.

• Those who suffer from diseases such as flu, bronchitis, asthma, conjunctivitis, heart diseases or chronic lung diseases should seek immediate treatment at the clinic or hospital if their condition worsens.

Enjoyable Fri Nite Out

Rcvd sms frm Berri ytd morning. Couldn't reply her till late afternoon. Arranged to meet up @ bus-stop. Darn, I was late 4 teh appt.

We had our dinner at Jack's Place. Both of us ordered steak. Their service sucks......even when it's off peak hours. Food was so-so only.

After we had filled up our stomach, we walked over to East Coast Park through the underground pass behind NTUC. It was damn hazy. First session of teh live band performance ended shortly after we arrived at BFD. Mei mei ordered Tequila Sunrise while I ordered Long Island Tea. Juz realised it contained 3-5 alcoholic drinks...hehehe...hope i won't KO after drinking tat.

Soon, teh 2nd session started. Berri rqstd Nickle's song, Far Away. It wasn't played till the last session. After this, we went over to Beach Hut. Ordered fried calamari, chicken wings & 2 jugs of beer(ongoing promo: half price 4 2nd jug). Stayed there till abt 0145hrs.

Felt sad after watching. Not sure why I'm feeling down. Perhaps, i'm too engrossed with the show. Had to admit some parts of the serials are dragging. Can't stand some of teh characters though. Costumes are fantastic. Typical love stories...bickering at first sight, got married due adult's agreement, fell in luv during the process. 王子与公主的完美结局. OST of this movie are nice. Luv those bears tat were potrayed in teh show. Imagine they have a museum juz for those bears @ Cheju Island!!!
